Resonant Optical Scanner features sub-miniature design.

April 21, 2009 - Measuring 0.9 x 0.5 x 0.43 in., SC-3 Non-MEMS Resonant Scanner features one fixed scanning frequency in range of 100-1,000 Hz and optical scan angle up to 50°. Electromagnetically driven, moving mirror device deflects light beam with continuous sinusoidal motion. High flexural stiffness provides resistance to shock and vibration, as well as low wobble and optimal scan repeatability. Models can be used in VIS, IR, UV, high-temperature, and vacuum applications.

SC-3 Sub-Miniature Resonant Optical Scanner

EOPC developed the new SMALLEST non-MEMS Resonant Scanner.

Dimensions: 0.9"W x 0.5"H x 0.43D

Up to 50 degrees optical scan angle

Mirror sizes: 6mm diameter, 7x7mm or 12x7mm

One fixed frequency from the range of 100Hz to 1000Hz (e.g. 830Hz)

See more details: www.EOPC.com/scanners/SC-3

The new SMALLEST non-MEMS Resonant Scanner developed by Electro-Optical Products Corp. is a sub-miniature electromagnetically driven moving mirror device, which deflects a light beam with a continuous sinusoidal motion. The scanning frequency range of the scanner is from 100 Hz to 1000 Hz, fixed at any one value within the range (e.g. 830Hz).

High device "Q" insures frequency stability, low reaction forces and low electrical drive power. High flexural stiffness provides good resistance to shock and vibration, as well as low wobble, and good scan repeatability. Resonating at the natural frequency makes the device an excellent candidate for long life operation for a multitude of applications that require good imaging with minimal distortion. The scanner is especially suitable for dedicated, high volume, OEM industrial applications. The SC-3 type scanner can easily be incorporated in small size and portable instruments.

Models can be use in VIS, IR, UV, high temperature and vacuum applications.

Applications include: optical scanning, medical imaging and pattern forming and recognition, microscopy, ophthalmology, DNA sequencing, OCT, dermatology, biomedical imaging, cell biology, biochemistry, digital X-Ray, neuroscience and oncology.
