High-Speed Digitizers have up to 4 GS on-board memory.

April 23, 2009 - Available with 1 or 2 digitizing channels, 3 or 4 GS/s sampling per channel, and up to 1.5 GHz of input bandwidth, 8-bit CobraMax(TM) series can continuously digitize waveforms at 4 GS/s for one full second. Multiple Record mode also allows millions of shorter, rapidly acquired waveforms to be stacked into memory. Also included, Expert(TM) FPGA on-board signal processing technology for data analysis reduces amount of captured data before transfer to host PC.

GaGe Announces CobraMax Family of Ultra High-Speed Digitizers with Up to 4 GS/s Sampling and 4 GSamples of On-Board Memory

Lockport, Illinois (April 8, 2009) - GaGe, a worldwide leader in design and manufacture of high-performance PC-based digitizer and oscilloscope cards, today announced the CobraMaxTM family of ultra high-speed 8-bit digitizers.

The CobraMax family of digitizers is available with 1 or 2 digitizing channels, 3 or 4 GS/s sampling per channel, and up to 1.5 GHz of input bandwidth. With up to 4 GS of on-board acquisition memory per card, CobraMax digitizers offer the ideal combination of ultra high-speed data capture rates and huge amounts of on-board memory.

"With its extremely deep memory of 4 GigaSamples, the CobraMax can continuouosly digitize waveforms at 4 GS/s for a full second - a capacity that far exceeds that of any previously available instrument." said Dr. Andrew Dawson, Business Development Manager of DynamicSignals LLC. "Alternately, GaGe's powerful Multiple Record mode allows the stacking into Cobra memory of many millions of shorter, rapidly acquired waveforms," Dawson added. "DynamicSignals has already seen considerable interest from the radar and communications industry, since the CobraMax provides a quantum leap in both digitizer sampling speed and acquisition time, which is a critical benefit for both of these industries."

By taking advantage of GaGe's ExpertTM FPGA on-board signal processing technology, such as Signal Averaging, users can also perform on-board data analysis to reduce the amount of captured data before transferring them to the host PC for further analysis.

For applications that require several simultaneous digitizing channels, it is possible to interconnect up to 8 CobraMax digitizers in a single chassis and achieve true multi-card synchronization thanks to GaGe's advanced internal clock distribution technology. Using short and controlled timing signal propagation paths and automatic timing calibration, this technology provides far superior inter-card time skew and jitter performance, as compared to alternate external multi-module synchronization techniques.

For ease of integration, CobraMax digitizers also provide Reference Clock In and Clock Out, External Trigger In and Trigger Event Out.

GaGe's Cobra family of digitizers is compatible with GageScope® oscilloscope software that allows users to acquire and analyze signals without writing a single line of programming code. GaGe also offers powerful Software Development Kits (SDKs) for C/C#, MATLAB®, or LabVIEW® and other popular programming environments for users that want to create their own custom software applications.
