Samsung Unveils its Latest Series of Hospitality TVs

AUSTRIA, Vienna, March 24 --

- New Line-up Designed With Efficiency and Market Expectations in Mind

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, a market leader in flat panel televisions, has today announced the launch of its latest range of Hospitality TVs. Designed to modernise hotel rooms, the new TVs contain the latest technologies ready for high-definition digital broadcasts, enabling greater energy efficiency and easy installation.

Samsung's 450, 457 and 550 Series LCD TVs present the best crystal clear picture quality with a stylish design suitable for any hotel - from budget to luxury. Hotel guests will familiarise Samsung's sleek glossy finish with the feeling of watching TV at home.

As the hotel industry prepares for the biggest transition since black and white televisions, Samsung's next generation of Hospitality TVs have been built with a digital tuner capable of receiving high-definition broadcasts. The new range has also been designed with more environmentally friendly materials and consideration for hotels to save energy. The reduced level back-light can save up to 60% of standard power consumption.

The plug and play feature makes first time installation simple. The Samsung Hospitality TVs are complete with USB cloning, enabling each TV to be set-up with hotel specific settings, channels and designs at the click of a button. This new functionality saves considerable time and financial costs for hotels as well as ensuring all the TVs are loaded with a standard set-up.

"The hotel sector makes very conscious decisions when choosing in-room technology. As well as considering energy efficiency and design they are also upgrading from the old analogue models to modern flat screen LCD TVs. Samsung's Hospitality TVs bring the ideal balance of an elegant design that would impress any guest, robust features and functionality that are specific for hotels and improved energy efficiency" commented Pammi Mudhar, European B2B Sales and Marketing Director, Samsung Electronics Europe. "Samsung has seen a huge growth in TVs for the hospitality sector, having cornered 20% of the market in less than two years and we're keen to grow this even further in 2009."

"Hoteliers are looking to differentiate themselves against competitors and offer guests an unforgettable experience," said Alistair Forbes, CEO at Acentic. "We've worked closely with Samsung to test the new range of Hospitality TVs - which offer hoteliers a premium state-of-the-art solution without the cost associated with a superior product."

The Series 4 and 5 TVs

The Hospitality TVs are available in various sizes, ranging from 19 inch to 46 inch screen sizes. The TVs offer bathroom speaker output, secure remote, side HDMI port, USB cloning and Jack Pack compatibility for easy connectivity to remote devices.

Designed with an elegant black finish, the 450 and 457 Series are HD ready. The 457 Series also has a built-in PMOLED clock display. The 550 Series is a full HD interactive LCD TV with a premium charcoal grey finish.
