April 10, 2009 - Palm-Sized Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer is used to test and measure physical characteristics of optical fiber for manufacturing, construction, and maintenance of optical fiber communication systems. Portable unit offers 3 central wavelengths and VLF, useful for testing passive optical networks. File management capabilities enable saving, browsing, and deleting files to or from USB stick and built-in memory. Device can also directly transfer data to printer.

Palm-Sized Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer from GAO


Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc. (www.GAOTek.com) launched its practical Palm-Sized Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) for Fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) network testing. This OTDR with advanced technology is widely used to test and measure physical characteristics of optical fiber in manufacture, construction and maintenance of optical fiber communication systems.

GAO's portable Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer features small size, light weight and long operating time. The optimized cost-effective device offers three central wavelengths and VLF which is useful for testing passive optical networks (PON) in FTTx. The OTDR has strong file management capabilities for saving, browsing and deleting files to or from USB stick and its built-in memory; it can also directly transfer to a printer.
