Modular CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive) kit is available to supplement new or existing GEN IV TALON robots. CBRNE/Hazmat TALON includes sensors for radiation, nerve agents, excessive temperatures, explosives, TNT, and volatile gases. Plug-and-play modularity promotes application adaptability and versatility. Heavy-duty shoulder and gripper are also available, enhancing robot's ability to lift debris off roadside bombs and carry mine detector.
MCLEAN, Va., March 24 -- QinetiQ North America's Technology Solutions Group announced today that its new, modular CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive) kit is available and can be purchased as an addition to new or existing models of the GEN IV TALON robot. This latest modular capability from the makers of the widely used TALON family of robots is on display at the NDIA Ground Robotics Capabilities Conference in Dallas, Tex., this week in booth 502.
CBRNE/Hazmat TALON includes sensors for radiation, nerve agents, excessive temperatures, explosives, TNT, and volatile gases.
The CBRNE module is the latest in a series of "plug and play" capabilities being developed for the TALON family of robots to make them more adaptable, affordable, versatile, and cost-effective to deploy. Last December, QinetiQ North America announced an add-on heavy-duty shoulder and gripper for the TALON GEN IV, enhancing the robot's ability to lift heavy debris off of roadside bombs and making it strong enough to carry a mine detector.
