Available in 38 lb bags, Sto BTS Xtra is used as lightweight adhesive, base coat, and leveler in StoTherm® insulated wall claddings. This single-component, polymer-modified, cement-based dry powder material uses lightweight aggregate and will build to ¼ in. to help level CMU walls or 1/8 in. for StoQuik Silver systems. Freeze/thaw- and crack-resistant product has vapor permeable nature that lets substrate breathe naturally and provides complete cover of reinforcing mesh.

Sto BTS® Xtra: New EIFS Lightweight Base Coat
A high-build base coat that is easier to install in StoTherm for applicators
ATLANTA - (March 19, 2009) Sto Corp., the innovative world leader in cladding, coating, and restoration systems, has introduced Sto BTS Xtra, a one-component, polymer-modified, cement based dry powder material used as a lightweight adhesive, base coat and leveler in StoTherm® insulated wall claddings.
These claddings include StoTherm Classic NExT(TM) StoTherm® Lotusan® NExT, and StoQuik® Silver Cement Board Stucco claddings. It can also be used as a lightweight leveler or skim coat on concrete or masonry wall surfaces, including Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) and Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs).
Sto BTS Xtra is a lightweight, high-build base coat and uses lightweight aggregate that will make it easier for contractors to install on the wall as well as moving the material around the jobsite. BTS Xtra will build to ¼" to help level CMU walls and builds to 1/8" for StoQuik Silver systems.
Why Sto BTS Xtra?

Factory blended -- Assures performance mix ratio
Portland cement/Low cement ratio -- Less alkalinity, less free lime, less efflorescence
Bagged powder product -- Less solid waste than pails; freezing protection not required prior to use
"Lightweight is the key to Sto BTS Xtra" said Mike O'Neil, Sto Product Manager. "What used to come in a 50 or 60 lb bag is now only 38 lbs and it covers the same amount. It is efficient and can be an important part in labor savings on your next EIFS project.

Sto BTS Xtra is used with many Sto systems including StoTherm Classic and StoTherm Classic NExT, StoTherm Lotusan and StoTherm Lotusan NExT, and StoQuik Silver systems. The StoTherm and StoQuik Silver specifications have also been updated to include Sto BTS Xtra.
