DMP Expands Line of Digital Cellular Communicators
CellComRT Adds Cellular Communications to XR100 Panels
Springfield, Missouri - March 12, 2009 - Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) has added another module to its line of digital cellular communicator. The new CellComRT, which mounts remotely from the panel, enables the XR100 Series Access/Burglary/Fire panel to include cellular communications, and provides a fully supervised alarm communication path over the GSM/GPRS network. With the addition of the CellComRT module to the existing line of DMP Digital Communicators, including the 263G and 463G, installers now have the flexibility to add cellular to all XT Series(TM) and XR100/500 DMP burglary and access panels.
"The rush is on to cellular, and we've responded by enabling our dealers to add this capability to any DMP burglary or access panel," said Vice President of Sales, Jeff McAleer. "More installations are including cellular communications, either for the added security of a connection that can't be physically cut or to protect facilities where phone service isn't readily available. For whatever the reason, DMP has a Digital Cellular Communicator to do the job."
The CellComRT Remote Communicator allows remote mounting of the cellular unit up to 250
feet from the panel, is compatible with the both the XR100 and XR500 panels, and includes the appropriate antenna. Users are protected from unexpectedly high cell phone charges with cellular data throttling, a standard DMP panel feature. When cell data traffic exceeds preset limits, the panel automatically suppresses cellular traffic beginning with non-alarm messages.
The CellCom Digital Cellular Communicator can be powered directly from the panel using the provided 4-wire harness or from an optional 12VDC Plug-in Power Supply. Low current draw provides longer battery life during power outages. The module supports all the standard cellular diagnostics provided by the XR100/500 and for government applications, DMP offers NIST approved and UL Listed AES encrypted communication when using it with the XR500 E panel. For one-stop, one-step installation convenience, dealers have the option to choose SecureCom Wireless cellular service, also provided by DMP.
