RFoF Transmission Products cover 20 MHz to 6 GHz bands.
March 19, 2009 -
Series OZ516WMX Direct Modulation RF over Fiber Optics Links make it possible to centralize RF signal processing functions in one shared location and use fiber optics to distribute RF signals to remote antennas. This simplifies remote antennas, because they only need to perform basic optoelectronic conversion and amplification functions. Band support covers VHF, UHF, L-Band, S-Band, and WiMAX 2.3/2.5/3.5 GHz as well as U-NII and MMDS.

The OZ516WMX RF over Fiber Optics Link Spans 20 MHz to 6 GHz Bands
The OZ516WMX Series Direct Modulation RF over Fiber Optics Link covers all Bands from 20 MHz to 6 GHz, including WiMAX 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz, as well as, the Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure.
Van Nuys, CA - March 2, 2009 -- Optical Zonu Corporation (OZC), a leading supplier of CATV, RF over Fiber, SONET/SDH, Gigabit Ethernet and Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) gear, announced the introduction of its OZ516WMX Series Direct Modulation RF over Fiber Optics Links. These new transmission products support all Bands from 20 Mhz to 6 GHz, including VHF, UHF, L Band, S Band, WiMAX 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz, as well as, the Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U-NII) and Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Service (MMDS).
The use of Fiber Optic links to distribute RF signals from a central location to Remote Antenna locations is the basis of RFoF technology. In this type of communication system, RF signal processing functions such as frequency up-conversion, carrier modulation, and multiplexing are performed at the Base Station and fed into the Remote Antennas. RFoF makes it possible to centralize the RF signal processing functions in one shared location, and then use Fiber Optics to distribute the RF signals to the Remote Antennas. By so doing, Remote Antennas are simplified significantly, as they only need to perform basic optoelectronic conversion and amplification functions.
"The OZ516WMX product line allows our Customers to future-proof their Network Infrastructure just by utilizing our RF over Fiber Optics transport products" said Farzad Ghadooshahy, Vice President of Engineering. "The OZ516WMX Series is a practical, economical way to handle Network migrations. Northrop-Grumman and the US Navy are just two examples of Customers who have benefited from the installation of the cost-effective, high performance OZ516WMX Series."
