Master Chemical Corporation Announces New Corrosion Inhibitor TRIM® RPO 6BF

Perrysburg, Ohio, February 27, 2009-Master Chemical Corporation meets the request of its customers by producing a new barium-free, low odor, solvent-based corrosion inhibitor. Nonstaining, TRIM RPO 6BF is water displacing and provides a thin-film indoor corrosion inhibitor or rust preventative which can be used on a variety of metals. RPO 6BF protects bearings, gears, and other precision parts during storage and transit for at least six months. RPO 6BF formulator, Joseph A. Snyder, Senior Laboratory Technician at Master Chemical comments, "RPO 6BF meets our customers' requests head on. Many of our customers who need to protect parts complain that solvent-based rust preventatives are nasty to work with because of the smell. They are very pleased with the very low odor of RPO 6BF."

RPO 6BF meets the desired humidity cabinet test; no rust at 650 hours using the ASTM D1748 test method. This means that generally it will provide in excess of six months corrosion inhibition in dry storage. Additionally, RPO 6BF is water displacing to help prevent rust due to water trapped under the protective film and will provide some cleaning action as well. However, RPO 6BF can be easily removed when needed using detergent cleaners, such as TRIM® CLEAN 2029 "One Step". RPO 6BF has a lower Volatile Organic Compound of 4.09 pounds per gallon. RPO 6BF can be applied by dip, spray, wipe, flow coating, or brush which makes it very versatile to the customers' needs.

David A. Barned, Global Marketing Manager, Master Chemical Corporation comments, "In addition to making our new version of RPO 6 barium free and with a much lower odor to meet our customers' request, we were also able to lower the price of the product! In this economically challenging time, our customers really appreciate it when we can add value and save on their purchase expenses." RPO 6BF can be purchased in one-gallon jugs, five-gallon pails, 54-gallon drums, 350-gallon returnable bins, and tank wagon lots.
