Calex Manufacturing Company Inc. announces the availability of the PQ-28 Power Conditioning Module. The PQ-28 protects downstream circuitry against transients and over-voltage conditions. The PQ-28 is compliant with the requirements of MIL-STD-1275B. The unit also functions as a pre-regulator module featuring an industry first 11 to 100 Volt DC input range. The unit is housed in an industry standard 1/2 brick package and rated up to 200 Watts. The PQ-28 is part of the CBAM (Calex Brick Assembly Modules), www.calex.com/CBAM.html, product family which offers a variety of solutions allowing the designer to mix and match modules to address a variety of issues including brown-out protection, EMI reduction, surge and spike protection and provide clean, uninterrupted power to downstream circuitry. Calex offers these modular solutions at commercial prices supporting the COTS initiative in the military and avionic industry. The CBAM products are also priced to address needs of industrial and process control applications.
The PQ-28 offers input reverse polarity protection, automatic short circuit recovery, undervoltage lockout and isolation from the baseplate to the pins of 700 Volts DC. The efficiency of the module is 95%. The PQ-28 utilizes only ceramic capacitors for long term reliability. The unit, as with all Calex products, is backed by a full five year warranty. Load regulation from 45 to 100 Volts is 0.1%. The temperature coefficient is typically 150 ppm/ºC. The switching frequency of the PQ-28 is 200 kHz. The baseplate operating temperature of the unit is -40º to +100ºC. The storage temperature range is -40ºC to +120ºC. The unit features thermal shutdown which occurs at approximately 112ºC baseplate. The dimensions of the PQ-28 are 2.28" x 2.4" x 0.50". The unit is constructed with an aluminum baseplate with threaded inserts to facilitate heatsinking options for extented temperature use. The PQ-28 is also potted with a thermally conductive potting compound for improved thermal performance as well as protection against shock and vibration.
The PQ-28 is available from stock to 4 weeks. The unit is available with RoHS and non-RoHS construction.
