Clock Oscillator operates from 1.62-3.63 V supply.

March 10, 2009 - Model PL610-61 is fixed version clock oscillator that accepts sine wave or square wave inputs with less than 0.1 V voltage swing. It includes crystal or reference clock flexible input and 6-bit odd/even frequency divider that produces outputs from 80 kHz to 130 MHz with 50% duty cycle. Performance is regulated by built-in Automatic Level Control circuitry and units can produce 2 clock outputs of equal or differing frequencies. Die and packaged IC versions are available.

PhaseLink Corporation Announces the Newest in Its PicoXO Clock Oscillator Family

1.62V to 3.63V Operation, Built-in ALC, Lowest Power, With Smallest Footprint

Fremont, California. - January 19th 2009 - PhaseLink Corporation, a leader in frequency source generation and the inventor of the Analog Frequency Multiplier (industry's best performing clock IC), and PicoPLL (world's smallest and lowest power programmable clocks) today announced the availability of the newest member of PhaseLink's PicoXO clock family, the PL610-61.

PhaseLink's PL610-61 is a fixed version of the world's smallest, lowest power, and best performing programmable oscillators, the PL610-XX. This family offers the smallest die size that comfortably accommodates package cavities as small as 2.0x1.6mm ceramic module or a 2.0x1.3x0.6mm DFN package, operates on a 1.62V to 3.63V supply range, accepts sine wave or square wave inputs with <0.1V voltage swing, while offering the lowest power consumption. With its smallest size, PL610 family has an uncompromising performance that also supports a built-in Automatic Level Control (ALC) circuitry that regulates performance, and is capable of ±50ppm crystal fine-tuning to reach the desired 0ppm output frequency. PL610 family is also capable of producing two clock outputs of equal or differing frequencies.

"The programmable versions of the PL610 are capable of covering an output frequency range of 80kHz to 130MHz using a single die, unlike the competition that uses 8 different die for each package size to cover a smaller frequency range.", said Amir Naghavi, VP of Marketing for PhaseLink Corporation. "Combined with its ±50ppm crystal fine-tuning, the programmable PL610 family reduces the IC inventory costs, while providing a distinct feature and pricing differentiator for the oscillator manufacturers."

PL610 family is ideal for handheld/portable and battery powered applications such as Personal Navigation Devices (PND), Phones/Smart Phones, Mobile Gaming, RF Radios, Bluetooth, or in other consumer electronics applications such as Camcorders, Cameras, or any application where performance, power, space savings, and cost are of importance.

With a flexible input (Crystal or Reference Clock) and a 6-bit odd/even frequency divider that can produce outputs from 80kHz to 130MHz with 50% duty cycle, and three output drives to choose from, the PL610 family has the configurability to meet the requirements of oscillator manufacturers as well as system integrators. The second output could be the reference input or a divided version of it. The PL610 is sold in die or packaged IC form. The packaged versions are housed in a 6-pin DFN or SOT23 GREEN/RoHS compliant packages.
