RELM Wireless Further Expands KNG P25 Product Line

- KNG P800 Company's First-Ever P25 Digital Product in 800MHz Band -

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla., Feb. 19 /-- RELM Wireless Corporation (NYSE:AMEX)(NYSE:-)(NYSE:RWC) today announced its entry into the market for P25 digital 800MHz portable radios with the introduction of the KNG P800. Like its sister VHF and UHF products, the P150 and the P400, introduced in 2008, the KNG P800 is designed with the demanding needs of professional applications in mind, providing customers with compact, lightweight radios that are feature-rich and offer class-A performance specifications.

In addition to its performance, the KNG-P800 is among the smallest professional-grade 800MHz portable P25 digital radios in the market. More efficient power consumption gives the KNG P800 an uninterrupted duty cycle of up to 18 hours -- significantly longer than similarly featured competitive models. The entire KNG series will be upgradeable to P25 Trunking.

Additional features of the KNG P800 include:

-- MIL-STD 810 F

-- 512 channels and up to 32 zones

-- Ease-of-use with menu-driven programming, Over-the-Air Rekeying (OTAR) and cloning

-- Software-driven upgrades (USB PC programmable)

-- NIST-certified FIPS 140-2 encryption

-- IP67 submersible rating

-- Customized keypad and multi-line display

Commented President and CEO David Storey, "This is the third product in our KNG line of P25 digital radios; a line which represents the foundation upon which our growth and future is being built. The P800 is an important addition to the line, and joins the P400 as a product that opens to us market opportunities that we have never before been able to address. We anticipate that mobile products in all three bands, VHF, UHF and 800MHz, will soon follow. All KNG products provide top performance and a wide selection of features at industry-best prices. This represents a critically important combination of advantages that we believe prospective new customers will find attractive, especially considering the budget challenges facing many government and public safety agencies today."
