SensComp Introduces the X1 Ranging Module Pro(TM)

The Next Generation of Ultrasonic Sensing Technology

SensComp Ultrasonic Ranging Module Affows Easy Connection to a Personal Computer to View Critical Sensor Parameters for Instruction, Analysis, Alignment and Gain Calibration

LIVONIA, Michigan, -- January 29, 2009--An ultrasonic sensor system complete with integrated USB oscilloscope function began shipping to new and existing customers today.

Called the "X1 Ranging Module Pro(TM)," and heralded as "a major advance in ultrasonic sensor technology " by SensComp officials, it combines all the standard functions of an ultrasonic ranging module plus the addition of a multi-channel USB based oscilloscope feature.

The X1 Ranging Module Pro(TM) was specifically designed by SensComp to facilitate and expedite the learning curve and development process by providing live sensor data conveniently on a PC. "Anyone who has ever worked with ultrasonic sensors knows the difficulties in alignment and gain setting for reliable operation" said Richard Bezerko, SensComp president. "Without an oscilloscope and easy access to circuit test points, you are really working blind. Many users, teachers and students in particular, simply do not have access to expensive oscilloscopes. Everyone has a PC today. The scope feature makes ultrasonic technology so much easier and affordable to understand." Adds Mr. Bezerko, "This product has made it simpler for design engineers to incorporate ultrasonic technology in their products."

The X1 Ranging Module Pro(TM) developers kit includes the X1 module, electrostatic ultrasonic transducer, transducer housing, power supply, USB cable, Sensor Scope(TM) Software (CD), users manual and a convenient plastic carrying case. The X1 Pro(TM) module utilizes SMT technology and has the same footprint as the earlier 6500 Ranging Module for easy retrofitting. It also affords a convenient pin connector and features triggered or astable operation. Analog output is 0-5VDC, with simple pushbutton MIN and MAX range setting of 6 inches to 20 feet when used with the 600 series electrostatic ultrasonic transducer.

"The SensComp Smart Sensor reflects our company's mission to meet and exceed customers' expectations. We listen, we hear, we get right on it," said Bezerko.
