Leica PowerGrade Offers Unprecedented Jobsite Flexibility with Multi-Machine Compatible Grading Control System

Leica PowerGrade, Leica Geosystems' next-generation grade control system, revolutionizes the construction process with one of the industry's first multi-machine compatible grading control systems.

Norcross, GA - February 2, 2009 - Leica PowerGrade, Leica Geosystems' next-generation grade control system, revolutionizes the construction process with one of the industry's first multi-machine compatible grading control systems.

Leica PowerGrade and PowerSnap panels

It is virtually plug-and-play technology on the jobsite. PowerGrade combines an intuitive color graphic display with flexible system configurations so full machine control is fast and easy, with quicker payback on the investment. PowerGrade's flexibility matches the system to the job today, tomorrow and down the road so the savings just keep on coming.

The Leica PowerGrade system is ideal for contractors looking to increase machine productivity in today's fast-paced competitive market with easy-to-use, high accuracy grade control. The installation of a Leica PowerGrade system is typically done within one day, minimizing machine downtime and generating payback faster.

The Leica PowerGrade system incorporates the innovative PowerSnap docking station that lets machine operators move the Leica PowerGrade automatic control panels from one machine to another with a quick lift-and-snap motion. The operator simply lifts the contact-free, sealed control panel off one machine and snaps it into place on another. Machine-specific settings are permanently stored in the docking station.

Rich Calvird, product marketing manager for Leica Geosystems, "It is virtually plug-and-play technology on the jobsite. PowerGrade combines an intuitive color graphic display with flexible system configurations so full machine control is fast and easy, with quicker payback on the investment. PowerGrade's flexibility matches the system to the job today, tomorrow and down the road so the savings just keep on coming."

Multiple Configurations, Increased Productivity

Fully waterproof and designed for the harshest construction environments, the Leica PowerGrade system provides automatic control of both slope and elevation and can be used with a wide range of sensors. Dual-laser sensor configurations are available for those who need to work independently of the slope direction. Leica PowerGrade also features unique automatic side-shift control for motor graders and mast-tilt compensation.

The Leica PowerGrade system is easily upgraded and fully scalable from basic 2D to full 3D capability. With a complete range of 2D sensors including laser, sonic, and cross-slope, and 3D upgrade capability to TPS, GNSS, or both, PowerGrade is the most complete grading control system in the industry.

Calvird adds, "The Leica PowerGrade system is ideal for contractors looking to increase machine productivity in today's fast-paced competitive market with easy-to-use, high accuracy grade control. The installation of a Leica PowerGrade system is typically done within one day, minimizing machine downtime and generating payback faster."
