TR Electronic Introduces 'Plug-and-Play' Linear Measurement System

TR Electronic has introduced a new cascading Linear Measurement System, a series of linear transducer modules that can be interconnected to measure typical distances of 5 to 60 feet and beyond.

LINEAR MEASUREMENT CHALLENGES

Many distance measurement applications require precision and quick response times. Solutions for High-rise storage systems, cutting equipment, scissor lifts and transfer vehicles have typically relied upon cable-retractors (also known as string-pots and rope-length encoders). These products are susceptible to wear-and-tear and can be compromised by environmental factors such as dust, debris and contaminants. Additionally, they are typically not maintenance-free.

"String-pots serve a purpose, but there is also a growing need for more precise and maintenance-free products that solve linear measurement applications", says Stephen Watson, Inside Sales and Distribution Manager for TR Electronic North America.

To address this growing market, TR Electronic has produced an evolutionary linear measurement system known as the LMC-50. The LMC-50 consists of IP65 rated linear measurement modules in a profile housing. The modules can be connected together across the entire measuring distance and require no maintenance. The units provide a seamless measuring system along the entire distance. Industry leading communication standards such as Ethernet/IP, Profibus and CAN will be available on customer demand.

"The TRC-50 plug-and-play system is a welcome addition to TR's position feedback solutions We've discussed this product with our customers and the interest is phenomenal,", says Matthew Scott, Director of Operations for TR Electronic North America. "Our engineers have hit a home-run with this one."

TR Electronic offers a full range of part detection, position sensing, safety and automation solutions. Backed by 24/7 service and an unwavering commitment to customer support and application assistance, TR Electronic has been serving the North American market for over 20 years.
