Multi-Bar Module delivers 500 W from 400 µm fiber at 976 nm.

February 6, 2009 - Fiber-coupled, multi-bar modules deliver up to 500 W through cladding mode-free QBH 400 µm core dia fiber with numerical aperture of less than 0.2 and WPE greater than 35%. Packaged in up to 12-bar configurations, designs are based on conductively-cooled bars that are optically stacked and polarization-coupled. Each requires only industrial water for cooling and comes with aiming beam. Lifetime rating is greater than 10,000 hr at 500 W CW operating condition.

New Fiber-Coupled, Multi-Bar Module Delivers 500W from 400 µm Fiber

Mainz, Germany, January 27, 2009 - DILAS, the diode laser company, announces today the newest fiber-coupled, multi-bar module capable of delivering up to 500 watts output from a 400-micron fiber at 976nm.

DILAS' fiber-coupled, multi-bar modules lead the industry in brightness and power featuring a compact footprint and convenient aiming beam. These fiber-coupled, multi-bar modules deliver 500W through a cladding mode free QBH high-power 400µm core diameter fiber with a low numerical aperture of <0.2 and WPE of >35%. Packaged in up to 12-bar configurations, these designs are based on industry standard conductively-cooled bars, which are optically stacked and polarization coupled. The product requires only industrial water for cooling.

Achieving high brightness and high efficiency, this new module has demonstrated lifetime greater than 10,000 hours at 500W CW operating condition.

Custom wavelengths are available upon request. These fiber-coupled, multi-bar modules are ideal for direct diode application as well as fiber and solid-state laser pumping.
