NSK Precision America Develops Linear Guides for Contaminated Environments

New series ideal for machine tool, laser, graphite and welding applications

Franklin, Indiana, January 27, 2009 - NSK's V1 series of linear guides for contaminated environments delivers outstanding functionality and long operating life for manufacturing equipment applications with heavy exposure to particles like graphite powder and sawdust.

Offering dramatically improved sealing capability, the linear guide series features high-performance seals with a multi-lip structure, as well as caps for rail mounting holes which reduce the entry of fine contaminants to less than 1/10 of existing NSK products. The series' operating life is also five times longer than standard products in dusty environments.

The V1 series is available with low-temperature chrome or fluorinated chrome plating surface treatments. The linear guides are also equipped with NSK's patented K1(TM) Lubrication Units. This feature allows for long term, maintenance-free operation, and is ideal for environments where grease is either difficult to replenish or easily washed away.
