Ascom Wireless Solutions Introduces the Next Generation IP-DECT Handsets
Enhanced Features and new Licensing Possibilities in Combination With a new Design Offer Users and Administrators new Levels of Operational Excellence.
GOTHENBURG, Sweden, January 21 -- Ascom Wireless Solutions today announces the launch of a new generation of IP-DECT handsets to be used in key business segments such as hospitals, industries, offices, retail and secure establishment.
"Ascom's new generation of DECT handsets offers more licensed professional functionalities designed to meet mixed customer requirements and it is our most important product launch of 2008," says Dennis Andersson, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management. He continues, "These handsets will strengthen our position as market leaders in DECT, particularly within the new fast growing IP based DECT technology area. The new handset range will make it easy for our customers to add more functions if their everyday demands change or increase. We can now offer a complete system portfolio, from basic models up to more advanced handsets including ATEX versions in combination with professional messaging."
With the new generation DECT handsets, d41 and d62, Ascom introduces a new Centralised Management platform capable of "Over The Air administration" and software upgrading. It also utilises dynamic output power to reduce power consumption up to 80%. These advantages, plus the benefits delivered by new licensing possibilities, underpin what Ascom believes are two handsets ideal for many modern workplaces.
"The Ascom d41 is developed with retail and office users in mind and it has been given characteristics and features that are perfectly suited to these markets," explains Niclas Hamp, Product Manager. He continues, "The handset is available with a Basic or Advanced license, the biggest difference being that the Advanced version has our latest Central Management platform."
The d62 is available with a number of different licenses, from an excellent telephone (Talker) to an advanced personal alarm and professional messaging handset (Protector). It will allow our customer's internal communication systems to grow in tandem with their demands. Niclas says: "We believe that the flexibility this delivers represents an attractive offer in terms of use, maintenance, administration and improved cost efficiency." He continues, "Additionally, other license options are available for different functionalities in environments where safety, health and security are of prime importance and they also represent the difference between a minor occurrence and a major event."
