January 7, 2009 - Using external magnetic couplers to drive internal robotics, -20°C Sample Access Manager (SAM) offers temperature-controlled (+20 to -40°C) environment for storing DNA/RNA, compounds, tissue, and protein samples. This piece of laboratory automation equipment also integrates functionality for cherry-picking, sample tracking, and multiple sample type capabilities. Along with software, system provides integrated Tube Picking Module (TPM), LN2 back up system, and complete audit trail.

Similar to Hamilton's -80°C storage system, the -20°C SAM is an entry level system that offers reliable automation, multiple sample type capability, cherry-picking, sample tracking and easy-to-use software all within a compact footprint.
