Hamilton Storage Technologies Announces New DeCapper Product

Provides Opening and Closing of Screw Cap Tubes

Hopkinton, Mass.-Jan. 5, 2009-Hamilton Storage Technologies today announces the launch of its latest product, the Hamilton DeCapper. The DeCapper optimizes the workflow in a laboratory by decapping and re-capping 12 rows of vials simultaneously in less than 60 seconds. The DeCapper supports 0.5ml to 1.4mL micro tubes from Matrix, Micronic, and Nunc.

The DeCapper also features:

o An easy-to-use touch screen

o Torque monitoring-which ensures optimal sealing quality

o Permanent sensor control-for enhanced process safety

o Removable cap holder rack-for batch wise processes

o 12 wells in parallel or complete rack-for selective row wise opening and closing

o Prevention of the cap moving over open tubes-eliminates risk of cross contamination

The Hamilton DeCapper can be controlled by Venus software or a stand-alone controller. Caps can be placed on a separate cap holder for processing multiple plates. In addition, this system can be operated as an integrated and stand-alone unit simultaneously.
