Roller Conveyor features standard internal release modes.

January 7, 2009 - Operating without chain, NB200 Narrow-Belt Driven Roller Conveyor provides 3 release modes and zero-pressure accumulation. Self-tracking feature recognizes when belt has shifted to left/right, while downstream zone look-ahead allows product to move downstream at optimal rate. Conveyor can switch between slug and singulation release modes to match flow demands. With dynamic auto-slug feature, accumulation zones self-monitor product density and move product downstream when space is available.

FKI Logistex Launches Logistex NB200 Narrow-Belt Driven Roller Conveyor

Flexible accumulation conveyor is part of new Logistex Case Conveyor Solutions family and features standard internal release modes for maximum throughput

(ST. LOUIS: December 18, 2008) FKI Logistex® (www.fkilogistex.com), a leader in integrated material handling solutions, announces the North American launch of the Logistex NB200 Narrow-Belt Driven Roller Conveyor, a flexible system that is part of the company's new Logistex Case Conveyor Solutions (LCCS) product family. The FKI Logistex NB200 offers maximum system throughput rates by using time-tested, proven algorithms for release modes and zero-pressure accumulation.

The NB200 provides customers with the option of three standard release modes, which can be changed quickly and easily with selectable switch settings. The NB200 conveyor offers enhanced ease of maintenance and reduced belt wear. The conveyor includes a unique self-tracking feature that recognizes when the belt has shifted to the left or the right, reducing maintenance requirements. The conveyor also operates without the use of a chain, eliminating the need for oil and making it ideal for clean environments such as food, beverage and pharmaceutical processing facilities.

"The FKI Logistex NB200 stands out from the competition with its inclusion of more advanced controls that provide the highest level of flexibility while remaining easy to use." said Steve Ackerman, president, FKI Logistex North America. "The client can pick and choose programs, customizing the conveyor to best fit their current needs with the ability to change whenever necessary."

The NB200's accumulation and release modes are derived from proven FKI Logistex zone control logic that maximize throughput. Multiple accumulation and release modes options allow the NB200 to provide reliable high density accumulation and release throughput. Flexible accumulation options include downstream zone look-ahead that allows product to move downstream at the best possible rate while maintaining gentle zero-pressure accumulation.

The conveyor includes the ability to switch between slug and singulation release modes to match the flow demands of an application. The NB200 also offers an innovative dynamic auto-slug feature, which is a built-in option that allows the NB200 accumulation zones to self-monitor product density and move groups of product downstream when space is available. This option increases accumulation throughput by 10% over other similar accumulation methods.

The NB200 is part of the fully interoperable LCCS product line, which includes the RT200 Right-Angle Transfer System and the MR200 Motorized Roller Conveyor. The LCCS family combines superior performance, reliability, throughput and ease of maintenance with the latest energy-saving features to reduce operating costs. The run-on-demand capabilities minimize wear and energy consumption, increasing operating efficiency.

ZC200 Zone Control

The LCCS family takes advantage of the new Logistex ZC200 Zone Control that includes on-conveyor zero-contact and zero-pressure accumulation logic control. Each zone controller includes all pre-programmed zone logic options, reducing spare parts and eliminating the need for specialized controls expertise or configuration software for quick product changes.

The ZC200 handles simple to sophisticated control requirements with easy switch settings for flexible zone control modes, such as singulation and slug release, multiple zone look-ahead accumulation options, dynamic auto-slug, automatic downstream jam detection, and sleep mode to reduce noise and extend belt life. Custom logic control, status monitoring and system-level configuration can be accomplished by adding a "zone director" integrated via system level networking. Designed for minimal maintenance and reduced commissioning time, the ZC200's built-in logic and integral wiring harness requires no tools for installation and commissioning.

The Logistex NB200 Narrow-Belt Conveyor will make its North American debut at ProMat 2009 in Chicago, Ill., Jan. 12-15. The NB200 will be featured as part of a fully functional demonstration loop located at the FKI Logistex booth (#1003).
