Torque Limiter Coupling tolerates angular misalignment.

November 25, 2008 - Featuring low-maintenance design, Flexible Torque Limiter Coupling connects 2 supported shafts while providing overload protection for machine components. Multiple facings are spring-engaged to transmit torque to driven shaft until pre-set torque range is exceeded. Torque limiter then slips under load until jam is cleared or manual/sensor-triggered shutdown occurs. Product allows for up to 0.040 in. parallel offset and up to 3° angular misalignment between coupled shafts.

New Mach III Flexible Torque Limiter Coupling

Walton, KY - Mach III introduces the Flexible Torque Limiter Coupling, which offers shaft-to-shaft connection in a simple, low maintenance design. The coupling connects two supported shafts while providing overload protection for costly machine components. Multiple facings are spring engaged to transmit torque to the driven shaft until the pre-set torque range is exceeded. The torque limiter will then slip under load until the jam is cleared, or a shutdown, either manual or sensor-triggered, occurs.

The Flexible Torque Limiter Coupling was designed to accommodate light angular and parallel misalignment. The flexible coupling design allows for up to a 0.040 inch parallel offset and up to a 3 degree angular misalignment between the two coupled shafts. The torque limiter is available in four sizes, for shaft dimensions from 7/8" to 2" with torque settings from 50 to 7,761 pound inches. The torque setting can easily be set or adjusted in the field without having to remove the torque limiter from the machine.

The Flexible Torque Limiter Coupling is appropriate for use in a variety of applications such as packaging machinery, material handling equipment, automation equipment or other machinery where overload protection is required.

Mach III Clutch, Inc., for over 60 years, has designed and manufactured a wide array of standard and custom designed clutches, brakes, and torque limiters. The Company is headquartered in Walton, Kentucky in the Northern Kentucky-Greater Cincinnati Area.
