X-Ray Inspection System offers high-speed 3D operation.

December 2, 2008 - Based on GigaPixel technology, OptiCon X-Line 3D features real-time, multi-angle image recording that enables test speeds to 40 cm²/s at full 3D PCB capturing. Integrated reconstruction methods, based on digital tomosynthesis, allows defined evaluation of board's single layers. During test of double-sided PCBs, upper and lower sides can be inspected separately within same process run. In-line, modular system enables configuration models for 2D/3D systems with various test speeds.

X-Ray Inspection Modules automate failure analysis.

GOEPEL electronic Steps into the Highest Performance Class with Brand-New X-Ray Inspection System

At this year electronica trade show, GOEPEL electronics introduces OptiCon X-Line 3D, a brand-new in-line 3D X-ray inspection system with excellent system features.

Based on a revolutionary GigaPixel technology, the new system sets new standards in particular in terms of speed. A real-time multi angle image recording is the basis that enables a test speed of 40cm²/s at full 3D PCB capturing. Integrated reconstruction methods, based on digital tomosynthesis, allows defined evaluation of the board's single layers. Therefore during test of double-sided PCBs, upper and lower side can be inspected separately within the same process run. For maximum fault coverage of BGA components, it is possible to analyse solder joints on various levels and to determine the wetting state. Of course, solder joints on IC pins and 2-pin components, as well as the presence of voids can be detected with OptiCon X-Line 3D.

The system's modular concept enables configuration models for 2D and 3D systems with various test speeds.

GOEPEL electronic is a leading vendor of electronic and optical test and inspection systems. The Company of 140 employees generated revenue of 18.5 million EURO in 2007, maintaining support and sales offices in Germany, France, United Kingdom and the United States. An extended distribution and service network of more than 300 specialists ensures excellent local and on-site customer support for several thousand worldwide system installations.
