Olixir Technologies Expands Mobile DataVault Family of Military-Grade Transportable Hard Drives wth Ultra-Rugged Flash Drive Solution Designed to Store and Protect Critical Data in Harsh Environments

Mobile DataVault FMX Combines Flash Drive Technology with Olixir's Patented Shock and Vibration Protection Technology and Industry-Leading Versatility to Deliver the Ultimate External Removable Hard Drive

MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 17 -- Olixir Technologies, an industry-leading provider of technologically advanced ruggedized, transportable data storage solutions, today announced the expansion of its Mobile DataVault family of ruggedized transportable storage solutions with the launch of its military-grade external removable flash drive. The Mobile DataVault FMX Ultra-Rugged Transportable Hard Drive is designed to offer the industry-leading versatility and modularity of the popular Mobile DataVault product line, while adding the extreme durability and reliability provided by flash drive technology and Olixir's patented shock and vibration technology.

The Mobile DataVault FMX, which is available in capacities of 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB, incorporates Olixir's patented military-grade shock and vibration protection technology that exceeds the MIL-STD-810F standards, enabling it to withstand shocks of greater than 12,000 Gs (non-operational) and 80 Gs of vibration during operation. Ideal for use in harsh environmental conditions, the Mobile DataVault FMX can operate at altitudes between -1,000 and 120,000 feet at temperatures ranging from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

The Mobile DataVault family of transportable hard drives offers industry-leading versatility and modularity. In addition to being used in a stand-alone format, with the choice of USB 2.0, Firewire, eSATA, or SATA cables, the Mobile DataVault FMX can also be used in Olixir's Plug-and-Play desktop docking station, 5.25-inch docking bays, or in JBOD and RAID configurations in tower and rack enclosures.

"The addition of the Mobile DataVault FMX to our popular family of transportable external hard drive solutions is of particular interest to our government and industrial application customers who are looking for the ultimate in ruggedized, durable and modular transportable storage solutions," explained Darshan Shah, president of Olixir Technologies. "While the extreme durability of our drives is a distinct and substantial differentiator among other ruggedized storage products in the market, the versatility provided through our unique modular design has proven to be one of the primary features that is driving increased adoption of our solutions in the government and business sectors."

About the Mobile DataVault

The Olixir Technologies Mobile DataVault family of ruggedized transportable drives includes the high-capacity, high-performance Mobile DataVault 3DX Transportable External Hard Drive, the military-grade Mobile DataVault 2LX and 2LE Transportable External Hard Drives, and the Mobile DataVault FMX Max-Rugged Transportable Hard Drive. All Mobile DataVault removable hard drives provide unparalleled versatility through a modular design that enables it to be used as a standalone external hard drive, or as a data cartridge in docking bays, and rack/tower configurations. Using interchangeable cables, the Mobile DataVault hard drives can support USB 2.0, Firewire, SATA, eSATA, and PCMCIA interfaces enabling the drives to capture and store data from virtually any computer in any environment.

The high-capacity Mobile DataVault 3DX, which is available in capacities of 160GB, 250GB, 500GB, and 750GB, is a ruggedized external hard drive that provides stored data with up to 1,200 Gs of shock protection in a patented handheld package.

The ultra-rugged Mobile DataVault 2LX and 2LE, which are available in capacities of 60GB, 80GB, 100GB, 120GB, 160GB, and 250GB, provide an extra level of protection with the ability to survive numerous six-foot drops, exceeding the MIL-STD-810F transit drop test. The Mobile DataVault 2LE offers wider temperature range, higher altitude, and increased operational vibration tolerance for use in extreme conditions.

The Mobile DataVault FMX is available in capacities of 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, and is designed to store and protect mission-critical data in the harshest, most extreme environments. Incorporating flash drive technology, the Mobile DataVault FMX provides superior reliability and high-performance data transfer.

The Mobile DataVault 3DX, 2LX, 2LE, and FMX are backed by a three-year warranty and are available to government, military and defense contractors through GSA (contract #: GS-35F-0538P). The Mobile DataVault 3DX, 2LX, 2LE, and FMX are also available worldwide via leading e-commerce sites and value-added resellers.
