Ejector Handles are designed to save assembly time.

December 1, 2008 - Suited for VME and other applications, IEC ejector handles feature one-piece configuration that promotes accelerated and error-free assembly. Two load-bearing cross-sections, one on each side of ejector, are optimized for size to promote stability and prevent handle from rocking back and forth under stress. Pivot motion occurs between ejector and extrusion when it is engaged, eliminating friction and loss of energy of previously available sliding motion.

New Rugged IEC Ejector Handles from Elma Save Assembly Time

Fremont, CA, Nov 17, 2008 - Elma Electronic Inc, a global manufacturer of electronic packaging products, has announced new features to its IEC handles for VME and other applications.

The Elma IEC ejector handles now come in a simple one-piece solution. Previous versions had up to 14 pieces and were more complicated to assemble. The new handles are more durable and rugged. With fewer parts, they offer quicker, easier, and virtually error-free assembly.

The handles feature an 80% larger load-bearing cross-section. Older versions have one single leverage point to eject the handle. The new IEC handles have two cross-sections, one on each side of the ejector. This provides more stability and prevents the handle from rocking back and forth under stress. Also, the handle attachment screw comes in from the rear side of the panel. This hides the screw from view for a more cosmetic appearance.

Most IEC handles have a sliding motion between the ejector and the extrusion, when it is engaged. The Elma unit just pivots, without the friction and loss of energy of legacy IEC handles. The rolling motion of Elma's handle is similar to the Involutes Curve of gears. This reduces the wear on the panel.

Elma's IEC panels are directly compatible with competitor's IEC handles. Free samples are available.

Lead-time is stock to 2 weeks.
