Manncorp's 'Advanced Starter' Turnkey Line Targeted for Prototyping & Low-Volume Assembly
SMD assemblers with limited production demands and likewise limited equipment budgets are the intended users of the "Advanced Starter" turnkey line, now available from Manncorp. CEO Henry Mann claims the line, priced at under $35,000, "fills a niche in the SMT assembly marketplace for low-cost, fast-payback, high-precision equipment ideal for prototyping and other low-volume circuit board assembly."
Consisting of a high-repeatability stencil printer, a full-function automatic pick and place system and lead-free conveyor reflow oven, the equipment package meets lead-free and fine-pitch requirements. "Ready to go right out of the box, with no options except feeders, this versatile turnkey line instantly provides OEMs with an in-house PCB assembly capability. It also gives contractors a resource for pilot runs of new products. Heretofore, they've had to turn down this promising source of business," the CEO adds.
The placer is the ECM-6711S, the latest upgrade of a machine in use for over a decade by reportedly hundreds of assemblers throughout North America. With on-the-fly top vision plus bottom vision, 24-lane feeder base, 13.75" X 9.8" placement area, computer and LCD monitor, the ECM is suitable for fine-pitch devices and BGAs. The turnkey's stencil printer is the 4500 with X, Y and Theta adjustments for fine-pitch SMT printing of single or double-sided boards. The line also features the TN350 lead-free forced hot air convection reflow oven with 5 upper and 5 lower heat zones, each with independent PID controllers settable to 320°C at accuracy of ±1° C.
The "Advanced Starter" is one of nine turnkey lines offered by Manncorp priced up to $180,000. For details, access https://www.manncorp.com/turnkey/.
