Laird Technologies Introduces LI0201 Ferrite Chip Beads

Smaller foot-print provides excellent chip bead solution for portable / handheld electronic applications.

St. Louis, Missouri, USA - November 3, 2008 - Laird Technologies, Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of customized, performance-critical components and systems for wireless and advanced electronics, today announced its new line of EIA 0201 Ferrite Chip Beads that extends the existing 0402 to 3312 surface-mounted monolithic EMI suppression product families.

The LI0201 chip beads' smaller, miniature foot-print make them ideal for advanced handheld electronic devices such as cellular phones, Bluetooth® handsets, PDAs, GPS, MP3 players, digital camcorders, and digital cameras.

Laird Technologies' new LI0201 series offers superior impedance versus frequency characteristics with low DCR for EMI noise suppression on high-frequency or broadband digital signal lines. The rugged monolithic assembly and 0.6 mm x 0.3 mm x 0.3 mm foot-print offers approximately 40% mounting space savings over the existing 0402 products, making the LI0201 Ferrites ideal for dense, compact circuit board construction. The chip beads provide a superior EMI noise filtering effect and space efficiency; and can be placed close to the EMI source or receptor of the external interface or the internal signal interconnection.

"Our new ferrite chip beads meet today's trend for smaller, yet powerful, electronics for portable devices such as cellular phones, gaming devices, and other applications," said Davis Huang, Laird Technologies Product Director, Signal Integrity Products. "This trend requires manufacturers to continually increase the number of mounted components in a smaller space. Laird Technologies is committed to expanding its EMI solutions portfolio to address such needs"

Laird Technologies offers a complete product portfolio of EMI suppression solutions include Ferrites Cable Cores, Chip Beads, and Common Mode Chokes with reliable performance, numerous features, as well as global technical service and support to meet customers' global requirements.

The LI0201 Ferrite Chip Beads are available at competitive pricing and are ideal for use in the telecommunications, data communications, and consumer electronics markets. For product or technical information, please contact Scott Wooden at +1 423-308-1568 or scott.wooden@lairdtech.com.
