EarthLCD Announces New Family of Small Form Factor TFT Displays Featuring Bright Color Screens and Versatile Configuration and Mounting Options

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - Oct. 10, 2008 - EarthLCD has introduced a new family of color 8-inch LCDs in response to increasing market demand for a small form factor display suitable for a multitude of applications. The new family includes eight models that feature rugged construction, low power, small footprint, and bright TFT color displays with varying mounting and configuration options for complete product design versatility.

Durable construction combined with what is anticipated to be the most popular and requested size, the new 8-inch displays are suitable for a wide range of applications such as industrial control, retail POS terminals, kiosks, digital signage, security monitoring and many others.

"EarthLCD's 8-inch TFT displays provide the ideal solution for OEMs and integrators previously forced to use larger sizes," explains Steve Cipolla, EarthLCD President. "In many instances, use of a larger display not only proved overkill cost-wise, but was also very restrictive in terms of the necessary real estate required to accommodate the display. The new family solves these problems by providing a more appropriate size screen for small footprint applications, while also offering more pleasing aesthetics and convenience for the end product."

Eight available models and a wide selection of configuration options provide optimum product design versatility. Customers can choose from standard or "touch" capability, USB or RS232 Touch Controllers, and VGA/NTSC or VGA only controller options. For flexible mounting, displays can be ordered in kit form, open frame, and with or without enclosure.

All models with enclosures come standard with a panavise mount that allows quick installation and easy display maneuverability at varying angles. The panavise mount's fully articulating, two point ball joint attachment spans 5-3/4" end to end and allows full adjustment left to right and up and down. Other standard features in all the models include a bright (250 nits) 8" LED TFT LCD with 262,144 colors and a response time of Tr+Tf 25ms. This versatile LCD also has an anti-glare coating, a hardness rating of 3H, and a viewing angle of (BL on, CR-10) 140degree (H), 120degree (V).

Quick delivery in as little as two days from receipt of order speeds integration time and addresses customer requirements for a "Just in time" affordable product solution. Pricing is from $299.00 - $399.00, depending on product packaging and configuration.

To date, EarthLCD's new 8-inch displays have already proved successful in the retail industry and in process control equipment for computerized feed delivery systems. "That's really just the tip of the iceberg," points out Cipolla. "These displays are so versatile and cost-effective; they can be used in virtually any industry that requires a small form factor display."

Founded in 1984, EarthLCD specializes in designing and manufacturing cost effective LCD products for industrial and OEM applications worldwide. The company's mantra of "We Make LCDs Work" has successfully earned them recognition as the supplier of choice for Touchscreen LCD connectivity. EarthLCD is a leading "Made in USA" manufacturer of industrial grade LCD kits, LCD modules, Programmable LCD displays (ezLCD) for embedded applications, industrial LCD touch monitors, custom LCD solutions, LCD touch screens, and LCD controller cards.
