Fuel Line Hose meets CARB, EPA, and SAE standards.
November 3, 2008 -
Suited for use in gasoline and diesel engines that power trucks and buses, Barricade(TM) hose with GreenShield(TM) barrier technology keeps permeation of hydrocarbon vapors below limit of 15 g/mē/day to meet California Air Resources Board (CARB) emission requirements, EPA, and SAE J30R14 T2 specifications. It can handle gasoline, diesel fuel, and additives as well as alternative fuels such as Biodiesel and E85 Ethanol. Hose can also be used for crankcase ventilation.

New Low Permeation Fuel Line Meets CARB, EPA and SAE Standards
New Barricade(TM) fuel line hose with GreenShield(TM) barrier technology from Gates is the right hose at the right time.
With changes in the world's climate come new demands for environmental protection. Prime targets in achieving this goal are the gasoline and diesel engines that power trucks and busses across the country. New standards and regulations are now being put in place that further limit allowable emissions in an effort to protect air quality, including:
o California Air Resources Board (CARB) emission requirements
o Proposed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) evaporative emission standards similar to CARB
o Proposed SAE J30R14 T2 specification
Hydrocarbon vapors escape or permeate into the atmosphere through the body of fuel line hoses as gasoline or diesel fuel is conveyed through the systems from the fuel tank to the engine. Permeation of allowable emissions has been reduced from 550g/m2/day to 15g/m2/day. Hoses on all vehicles and equipment will have to comply with these regulations in 2008.
Barricade low permeation fuel line hose is designed to meet and exceed all current and foreseeable regulations for fuel line emissions. Thanks to its GreenShield barrier technology, Barricade hose exceeds CARB requirements as well as SAE J30R14 T2 and EPA standards. Permeation of emissions is well below the limit of 15g/m2/day.
This low permeation, flexible barrier hose is designed to handle gasolines, diesel fuel and additives as well as new fuels such as Biodiesel* and E85 Ethanol. It can also be used for crankcase ventilation.
