Webb Company to Showcase SmartCarts at Pack Expo Show

Jervis B. Webb Company and Partners to Showcase Latest Automatic Guided Carts at Pack Expo Show in Chicago, Illinois

Farmington Hills, Mich. (October 13, 2008) - Jervis B. Webb Company - a subsidiary of Daifuku Company, Ltd. and leading provider of material handling solutions - is teaming up with Schneider Packaging Equipment Company and Flexicell Robotic Systems to showcase Webb's latest line of SmartCart® Automatic Guided Carts (AGCs) at the Pack Expo Show November 9-13, 2008, held at the McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill. SmartCarts are flexible, low-cost Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) that are guided by magnetic tape.

"SmartCarts are a perfect fit for meeting the production requirements of today's packaging industry," said Bruce Buscher, vice president of sales and marketing for the Jervis B. Webb Company. "Whether it's delivering pallets to and from a stretch wrapper, roller conveyor or palletizer - or simply moving loads around the warehouse - SmartCarts are a smart, economical solution."

The Webb Company, located in booth E-7564 of McCormick's Upper Lake Hall, will display a SmartCart Model 300 Counterbalanced Fork AGC, which is ideal for picking up and dropping off pallets from conveyors, stretch wrappers or the floor.

Schneider and Flexicell, both Webb SmartCart value-added resellers (VARs), will display SmartCart Model 300 Single Conveyor AGCs, which are used for delivering pallets to and from roller conveyor systems. Schneider is located in booth S-1501, while Flexicell can be found at booth N-3754. SmartCart AGCs are sold through a network of qualified VARs throughout the United States and Canada.

The Model 300 SmartCarts are equipped with SmartSteer(TM) technology, which enables the AGC to intentionally leave the magnetic tape guidepath and perform programmed functions, then return to the path in either a forward or reverse motion.
