DeWALT Launches 1/2 in. Drills with 10 A High Performance Motor
- New Drills Available in Mid-Handle and Pistol Grip Designs for Increased Comfort -
October 2008 - DeWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, launches its new line of heavy-duty ½" drills (DWD215G and DWD210G) that offer users increased performance on the jobsite. Built with 10 amp motors, the new drills provide electricians, plumbers, mechanical contractors, HVAC professionals, metal fabricators, carpenters and professional contractors with enough power to complete heavy-duty jobsite applications. The new drills are offered in mid-handle and pistol grip designs for increased user comfort and control on the jobsite.
The ½" drills are equipped with a patented DEWALT-built, high-performance 10 amp motor. The new motor design has approximately 40 percent more copper than previous models at the same motor size, offering users up to 50 percent more power, more torque, and 0-1,200 RPM for increased drilling performance.
User research found that construction professionals seek more options in handle design and grip. As a result, DeWALT designed the DWD215G with a mid-handle grip and the DWD210G with a pistol grip, offering increased comfort and control. Two grip options give end users the opportunity to choose the design that best meets their drilling needs. The handles are equipped with an anti-slip soft grip for enhanced comfort.
Additionally, the DWD215G features a durable, all-metal keyless ratcheting chuck with automatic spindle lock for increased bit retention.
DeWALT is a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools with more than 300 power tool and equipment products as well as 800 power tool accessories, including corded and cordless drills, saws, hammers, grinders, routers, planers, plate joiners, sanders, lasers, generators, compressors and nailers, as well as saw blades, metal and masonry drill bits, abrasives, screw driving accessories and more.
