Polarized Nano Connectors conserve space and weight.
October 29, 2008 -
Suited for military, aerospace, defence, and medical applications, miniature connectors are designed to prevent mis-mating and ensure signal integrity even in conditions prone to shock and vibration. Insulators hold one row of pins and one row of sockets, which polarizes connector without space normally required for guide pins. Able to withstand temperatures from -55 to +125°C, devices are available in 4-, 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-position sizes and come on 0.025 in. pitch spacing.

Omnetics' New High-Rel Polarized Nano Connectors Save Space and Weight
New series is among the smallest in the world
Omnetics Connector Corporation, the leading manufacturer of miniature high-rel connectors, is now offering a new series of miniature polarized nano connectors for military, aerospace, defence and medical applications where size and weight are critical. The insulators are designed to hold one row of pins and one row of sockets, which polarizes the connector without the space normally required for guide pins, making these among the smallest polarized high reliability connectors in the world.
Comments Gary Evans, European Sales Manager: "These connectors prevent mis-mating and save space and weight in critical applications such as military avionics and satellite systems, ensuring signal integrity even in conditions where high shock and vibration are present. In addition, they are able to withstand temperatures as low as -55degC and as high as +125degC (200degC with high temperature epoxy). Our R&D team works tirelessly to produce innovative connector products which meet or exceed the expectations of customers in the high-rel market, and these are our smallest connectors to date."
Available in 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 position sizes, these new polarized devices are on a 0.635mm (0.025") pitch spacing and feature gold-plated contacts. Rated at 1A per contact, with a maximum contact resistance of 25mW (71mV) @ 1A, the connectors feature an insulation resistance of 5000MW minimum at 100Vdc. Insulator material is thermoplastic polyester, type GLCP-30F to MIL-M-24519. Sockets are made of copper alloy and pins are beryllium copper. Termination options include pre-wiring, straight tail, horizontal surface mount and vertical surface mount.
