NextComputing Unveils Portable, Rugged, Visualization Center at GEOINT Symposium
NASHUA, N.H., Oct. 21 /-- NextComputing, leading creators of high-performance computing solutions, announces a fully featured visualization center in a ruggedized, portable form factor. The company developed this multi-display option as an add-on to its ruggedized Vigor Evo HD, which answered the call for an extreme performance, lightweight, deployable system designed for use in harsh environments. One or two additional displays attach to either side of the integrated monitor and fold in neatly for protection of the screens and ease of portability.
This newest announcement comes at a time when a growing number of industry segments are demanding expanded visual display capabilities with ruggedized portable computers. The oil and gas industry will benefit from enhanced viewing when utilizing this multi-display option for wide scale reservoir visualization, immersive seismic analysis, and command and control-style viewing. The medical imaging industry can utilize the Vigor Evo HD visualization center for real-time diagnostic analysis, as a mobile physician reading station, as a mobile HIS/RIS/PACS system, and as a Telerad "Wet Read" workstation. Government and military applications that extend to field operations in harsh battlefield environments stand to benefit as well. Some examples include real-time situational awareness, global command & control, tactical operations centers, target acquisition, mission planning, terrain modeling, UAV ground control workstations, training and simulation.
The Vigor Evo HD is available with an integrated 17" high resolution display up to 1920x1200 resolution, with an additional one or two displays which fold out to the left and right sides, in the visualization center configuration. The Vigor Evo HD also offers a selection of the industry's highest performing PCI Express graphics cards to optimize performance with even the most graphically intensive applications.
Other features include top of the line quad core processors from both Intel and AMD (up to 8 processor cores), up to 16GB RAM, up to 3TB storage capacity, multiple IO options including up to 4 full-length PCI Express slots, open standards architecture, and 32/64 bit multi-OS support. The internal structure is housed in an innovative floating chassis system that significantly reduces risk due to failure from shock and vibration. About the size of a briefcase, the Vigor Evo HD with visualization center is lightweight and easy to carry.
NextComputing's ruggedized, mobile visualization center will be on display at the GEOINT 2008 Symposium, October 28-30, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN.
