Cap Tightener incorporates real-time torque readout.

Utilizing belt tightening system, NEPMT-R maintains contact with cap throughout retorque process for optimal cap/container control. HMI screen lets operator see applied torque as cap is being tightened, and PLC lets torque data be collected and downloaded to statistical data collection system. Installed over existing tabletop conveyor, this freestanding and self-contained unit also includes NIST-certified transducer that enables setting of torque setpoint.

New England Machinery is now pleased to offer a cap tightener with torque readout. It's newest model, the NEPMT-R will allow the operator to see the applied torque as the cap is being tightened. With the PLC control there is also the ability to collect torque data and download it to a statistical data collection system.
The NEPMT-R utilizes a belt tightening system as opposed to the traditional spindle type retorquer. The belt system allows the machinery to be in contact with the cap throughout the retorque process. This gives complete control of the cap and container. The NEMPT-R has an integrated NIST certified transducer which allows the operator to set a torque setpoint via the machine HMI control. The torque can be read real time via the HMI screen. The HMI also allows the operator to set High and Low setpoints which can be utilized with the optional reject system. The belts also provide less wear compared to the spindle rollers because there is no "bumping" of the cap during the retorque process. This cap tightener will offer hand crank adjustment for a single operator to change over the system quickly without tools. The NEPMT-R is a freestanding, self-contained unit which installs over an existing tabletop conveyor.
