Tire Maintenance Cut by 75% with New TireVigil(TM) Features

TROY, Mich., Oct. 20 /-- TireStamp Inc., an industry leader in tire pressure monitoring and asset management, has announced the addition of two exciting new features to its TireVigil(TM) Tire Pressure Management solution for fleet customers. TireVigil(TM) is a sophisticated tire management solution capable of detecting tire problems, alerting the fleet to them and making recommendations to the service technician for corrective actions.

The number one issue with other electronic TPMS systems is that reprogramming tires that are changed is difficult and time consuming. TireVigil(TM) now directly addresses this problem with a simple yet powerful system. TireVigil(TM) Servicing allows a service technician to view the state of a vehicle's tires at a glance on any internet enabled computer or using a hand-held wireless device. Clear, bright, colorful images of the vehicle's tires are shown displaying tire position, tire pressure and temperature, target tire pressure, sensor and tire I.D. The tire make, model, and tire mileage can also be accessed. The tire technician can enter tire changes and rotations quickly and easily with a touch on the screen or a click of a mouse. Manual data entry is virtually eliminated.

"The fleet can get a daily work order of any tire issues it has before vehicles are dispatched so it can be proactive and correct these problems before they become costly road delays. It can also receive alerts for problems that develop while equipment is on the road or when it returns to the depot. Cold inflation pressure is accurately calculated so false alarms are eliminated and technicians are advised of exactly how much pressure to add to tires. Imagine never having to manually check the tire pressure in all your tires ever again!" said Peggy Fisher, President of TireStamp.

TireVigil(TM) places tire intelligence at the point of activity in the service bay, vehicle yard or check lane where the work is being done with the addition of a second new feature, TireVigil(TM) Mobile. TireVigil(TM) Mobile provides all of the features and benefits of the normal computer based TireVigil(TM) system using a cellular or Wi-Fi data connection without being tied down to a desktop computer. TireVigil(TM) Mobile can perform a vehicle tire pressure survey during a pre-trip inspection, while the vehicle is on the move or as a part of regular vehicle service. TireVigil(TM) Mobile currently supports RIM Blackberry and any Windows Mobile 5.0 compatible Smartphone or handheld. With this innovation, a fleet manager doesn't even have to be in the office to get notifications of tire related issues in the fleet.

These two new features continue the TireStamp tradition of bringing total tire visibility to fleets around the world. "Fleets that are suffering in this economic time can't afford NOT to have the TireVigil(TM) system installed on their fleet of vehicles" according to client David Graham, President of Goulbourn Sanitation. Danny Hamilton, President of Star Coaches said "TireVigil(TM) returned a substantial savings in tire and labor costs." Ed McCauley of Cambridge Iron and Metal said, "I would recommend TireVigil(TM) to any company who is serious about managing their tires and saving time and money." Prior to using TireVigil(TM), Cambridge required a tire service company to provide service four times a week. However, after installing TireVigil(TM) the fleet now only requires tire service once a week, effectively cutting its tire maintenance by 75% in the first month alone.
