ATLANTA, Oct. 20 -- ROBOBAK(TM), the leader in agentless data protection software designed for remote and branch offices, today announced the immediate availability of Version 8.1 of its Data Protection Suite software. The improved software enables companies to protect their data in a fraction of the time required by earlier versions, giving them greater confidence that they will be able to backup increasing amounts of data in ever-shrinking windows, while restoring lost or corrupted data in less time and enabling them to resume full business operations.
Tests conducted earlier this month at the ROBOBAK Testing Laboratories using Version 8.1 produced initial backups of 500 gigabytes of data on commodity hardware in one-fifth less time; subsequent, incremental backups, adding 100 megabytes of information, were conducted in almost half the time, a dramatic improvement over earlier versions of ROBOBAK's already-speedy performance. Version 8.1's data recovery capabilities were even more impressive: ROBOBAK Labs personnel performed a restore of 1.6 million files (totaling 500 gigabytes) using Version 8.1, in 30 percent less time than required under Version 8.
