Demolition Hammer features antivibration technology.
October 29, 2008 -
Equipped with 15 A motor, MHE 96 SDA-Max is suited for demolition in stone, concrete, and brick. Motor provides 0-1,950 bpm and 1-27 joules of single blow energy, while vario tacho constamatic electronic speed control enables tool to maintain virtually constant number of blows per minute between load and no-load. Measuring 27¾ in. long, hammer includes VibraTech technology, which incorporates damping system into main and side handles to minimize vibration and user fatigue.

Metabo's New Demolition Hammer Combines Heavy Duty Performace with Antivibration Technology
WEST CHESTER, Pa. October 2008 - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has introduced a new demolition hammer that combines a powerful 15 A motor with Metabo VibraTech (MVT) technology. MVT reduces vibration and user fatigue due to its integrated damping system incorporated into the main and side handles.
The new MHE 96 SDS-Max Demolition Hammer is ideal for demolition in stone, concrete and brick, including sizing concrete openings for doors and windows, chasing cracks on floor repairs, wall chasing or embedding pipe and conduit into concrete or block walls. It is also useful for surface preparation and removal of over pour and splash in concrete work.
The 15 A motor provides 0 bpm to 1,950 bpm and 1 joule to 27 joules of single blow energy. Metabo's vario tacho constamatic (VTC) electronic speed control enables the tool to maintain a virtually constant number of blows per minute between load and no-load, maximizing the productivity of the operator. An electronic soft start provides precise control from the moment work begins.
Comfort and safety are integral to the design of the new hammer. Ergonomic rounded-off areas on the handles and the motor casing allow users to find a comfortable working position. The large D-type rear handle is vibration dampened and enables two-handed operation in more difficult applications and the included anti-vibration side handle can be mounted in 3 different positions for maximum comfort. The oversized function switch enables the operator to easily position the chisel face in 16 different positions, and a lockable switch enables comfortable operation for long periods.
Other integral features that increase the tool's durability include a tough aluminum die-cast gearbox housing, a protected service display and a signal lamp for voltage overload, a safety clutch, and auto-stop carbon brushes. The MHE 96 incorporates Metabo's winding protection grid that deflects harmful dust and debris away from the motor to increase the hammer's life up to five times that of tools without such protection.
The MHE 96 measures 27-3/4" in length, weighs 26.5 lbs and comes standard with the anti-vibration side handle, grease, a carrying case and cleaning cloth.
