Austin Semiconductor, Inc. Announces 512 MB SDRAM, 54-Pin TSOPII with Copper Lead Frame

October 15, 2008

Austin, Texas - Austin Semiconductor, Inc. (ASI), a leading technology solutions provider for the high-reliability marketplace, has expanded their semiconductor assembly services by adding the only onshore TSOPII capability to their extensive line of products and services. The first product is a 512Mb, 54-Pin TSOPII SDRAM with copper lead frame.

The TSOPII features a Lead on Chip (LOC) design, which allows the size of the package to be approximately the chip size, which reduces the size to the minimum. The device is a 512Mb, 32Mb x 16, 3.3V, SDRAM, measuring 22.30mm x 11.76mm, with a height of 1.2mm. This product is currently available and Austin Semi is capable of providing 8,000 - 10,000 parts per month.

"Austin Semiconductor is pleased to be able to support the Hi-Rel community's need for thermal efficient and mechanically robust plastic packaging with our 54-pin TSOPII. In addition, we are offering our Hi-Rel customers more security and confidence by being the only domestic supplier with the TSOPII capability," says Frank Muscolino, President of Austin Semiconductor.

The TSOPII is ideally suited for High-Temp applications in the Automotive / Industrial / Military industries, cellular base stations, gas / oil explorations, Aerospace & Avionics, Engine Control, On-Board Flight Computers, Radar / Sonar, and much more.

512Mb, 54-Pin TSOPII SDRAM Features

o Full Military temp (-55°C to 125°C) processing available

o Configuration: 32 Meg x 16 (8 Meg x 16 x 4 banks)

o Fully synchronous; all signals registered on positive edge of system clock

o Internal pipelined operation; column address can be changed every clock cycle

o Internal banks for hiding row access/precharge

o Programmable burst lengths: 1, 2, 4, 8 or full page

o Auto Precharge, includes CONCURRENT AUTO

o PRECHARGE and Auto Refresh Modes

o Self Refresh Mode (IT)

o 64ms, 8,192-cycle refresh (IT)

o <24ms 8,192 cycle refresh (XT)

o WRITE Recovery (tWR = "2 CLK")

o LVTTL-compatible inputs and outputs

o Single +3.3V ±0.3V power supply
