RSI Systems Introduces New CASEJET(TM) MVP Line Of HP Inkjet-Based Case Coding Systems At Pack Expo 2008

Gaithersburg, MD, October 14, 2008 -- RSI Systems' new CaseJet(TM) MVP line of HP thermal inkjet-based case coding systems, primarily for food processors/packagers, will be demonstrated for the first time by RSI Systems in booth #S-1295 at Pack Expo International 2008 November 9-13.

The MVP line has three models: the economical basic MVP, printing up to 4 in. of 2 in.-high text, graphics and barcodes using one or two printheads, a 15 in. touchscreen user interface, serial port and simple print job database; the mid-range MVP Plus with additional software and connectivity options (such as TCP/IP and OPC), rugged printhead enclosure, multi-SKU database, waste-reducing ink management system and other features; and the top-of-the-line MVP Pro, printing up to 16 in of 2 in.-high text, graphics or barcodes using up to eight printheads, stainless steel NEMA 12 cabinet, multi-feeder line functionality and advanced I/O module.

Each RSI printhead consists of arrays of multiple high-resolution HP thermal inkjet cartridges with fast-drying water-based HP 4500 pigmented ink for optimal visibility on corrugated cases and trays. Reliable, high-quality HP inkjet cartridges reduce downtime and maintenance compared to conventional inkjet technology because no purging or solvents are needed to clean the printheads; they wipe clean with a lint-free cloth and distilled water, and are easily replaced.

All of the new MVP systems include: four levels of security; a unique adjustable printhead mount that permits independent adjustment of each axis for perfect alignment ; RSI's easy-to-use and easy-to-learn ProPrint software, and controllers that allow rapid changeover of print message and accurate message printing, even in multi-SKU factory automation production environments with multiple feeder lines. All MVP models include a single buffer mode to ensure that the correct message is printed on each case.

Reliability, Scannability, Industrial

According to RSI President Dave Don, the new line was designed around three core concepts: reliability to minimize rejects and maximize uptime, consistently scannable barcodes and adapting HP's high quality inkjet technology to industrial applications. The company has been selling high-end custom HP inkjet-based industrial printing systems for 5 years, with an installed base of more than 1000 systems.

"What is dramatically different with the MVP line is that now customers can buy an off-the-shelf entry-level or mid-range system that has the same reliability, scannability and industrial-strength protection as our higher end customized systems - but at a much lower price," said Don.
