Used with 491M Modular Gas Standards Generators, 491M-PB Module maintains steady gas pressures and balances vent backpressure to delivery system pressure. Stable reference pressure eliminates concentration fluctuations for all mixture flow paths, and reference pressure is balanced to system operating pressure for stable delivery concentration. Modular system can generate concentration ranges from sub-ppb levels to over 50% percent, from pure compounds, using single-step dilution.

Kin-Tek Laboratories, Inc. is pleased to announce their NEW Pressure Balance Accessory. The 491M-PB Module is used with 491M Modular Gas Standards Generators* to maintain steady gas pressures within the unit and balance the vent backpressure to the delivery system pressure.
At trace concentrations (PPM, PPB, and PPT) of reactive gases, surface adsorption within the transport system can significantly affect the actual mixture concentration delivered. Using a continuous flow of mixture at controlled temperature and steady pressure allows equilibration of the concentration on those surfaces to minimize the adsorption effect. But in a dynamic system equilibrium may be upset by fluctuations in pressure resulting from routine system operation. This can result in unsteady mixture concentration at the delivery point even though the feed concentration is stable.
The 491M-PB eliminates concentration fluctuations by providing a stable reference pressure for all of the mixture flow paths. This reference pressure is balanced to the system operating pressure to insure stable delivery concentration even during operating mode changes in the 491M Standards Generator or the analytical system under test.
