Niceware Announces New LabelClinic(TM) ISBT-128 Print Server Release

On-Demand Database and Print Server extends ISBT-128 database and labeling resources through a Service Oriented Architecture

MILWAUKEE, Oct. 1 -- Niceware(R) International is excited to announce the release of LabelClinic(TM) Print Server version 2.5. LabelClinic is an on-demand database and printing software that conforms to the ISBT-128 standard for blood product identification from the International Council for Commonality in Blood Banking Automation, Inc. (ICCBBA).

The LabelClinic Print Server enables blood banks in regional collection centers and hospital transfusion services to integrate critical blood product database tables and label printing with their blood bank information systems, including access to the 6000+ blood product codes in the ICCBBA database. In addition, small hospital transfusion services can deploy LabelClinic as a stand-alone software solution along with a thermal printer and FDA approved label media. In both the integrated and stand-alone deployments, LabelClinic is printer agnostic and enables the user to select any model of thermal printer they choose, or use existing printers instead of the requirement to purchase specialized printers.

LabelClinic Print Server version 2.5 brings a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to blood labeling through a web service interface. The web services of LabelClinic enables requests to ICCBBA database tables translated for use per the ISBT-128 standard as well as all label formats within the ISBT-128 and ABC Codabar standards. Implementing the web services interface gives simple access to the rich functionality of LabelClinic such as blood product database queries, label printing, dynamic print previews and more.

"The release of LabelClinic version 2.5 with a web services interface moves the LabelClinic product into the realm of enterprise applications with SOA," said Lee Patty, Vice President of Marketing at Niceware. "This demonstrates Niceware's dedication to evolving LabelClinic to provide a complete blood labeling software solution from the desktop to the global enterprise."

Niceware Healthcare will be exhibiting the LabelClinic Print Server v2.5 at the AABB Annual Meeting and TxPO in Montreal, Canada, October 4th - 7th in booth 2725.
