Sechrist Introduces New OmniPressure Hyperbaric Chamber Mattress Providing 'Pressure Reduction' and More Patient Comfort

Designed to Fit All Chamber Brands and Models

ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 29 -- A new hyperbaric chamber mattress designed to provide improved patient comfort and to support healthcare professionals in their wound-prevention goals has been introduced by Sechrist Industries, the world leader in hyperbaric chambers. The new OmniPressure Hyperbaric Mattress features a two-layer multi-density design with a highly supportive resilient under layer and a conforming top layer for optimum pressure distribution. The OmniPressure Hyperbaric Mattress also provides a first-time available 'heel slope' for hyperbaric patients, a gentle taper at the foot of the mattress that re-distributes pressure along the lower legs while reducing pressure in the heels, one of the most problematic areas for patients with compromised wounds.

According to Jack Rollins, president and chief executive officer, Sechrist Industries, "The demands on healthcare professionals to reduce all potential sources of pressure ulcers has never been more critical as evidenced by the new CMS regulations effective October 1st. Our new OmniPressure Hyperbaric Mattress will support the goals and directives of healthcare facilities and the patient's clinical team as it reduces the pressure up to 45 percent in the heel area and 30 percent in the sacral area alone compared to existing mattresses."

The fabric cover of the OmniPressure Hyperbaric Mattress is both fluid-resistant and flame retardant. Specifically designed for use in hyperbaric chambers, the cover is conductive, anti-microbial, self-deodorizing and easily cleaned. The bottom of the mattress is constructed of heavy-duty, tear-resistant vinyl providing maximum infection control. The covers meet NFPA99 requirements. The mattress meets all standards for protection of the patient and facility including CAL 117, 133 and 603 as well as Federal Standard 16 CFR Part 1633.

The standard OmniPressure Hyperbaric Mattress will provide improved comfort, proper support and pressure reduction for all hyperbaric patients. Sechrist is also introducing a bariatric hyperbaric mattress which is specifically designed to provide additional support and pressure reduction benefits for patients from 400 to 700 lbs. Both new mattresses will fit all brands and models of hyperbaric chambers on the market today.
