In a chatter comparison test performed in 4140 Alloy Steel @ 28HRc, a conventional long end mill produced maximum amplitude of 79, as compared to the Series 7, which produced maximum amplitude of 18. In a finish cut comparison using the Mitutoyo Surftest Surface Finish Analyzer, the conventional long end mill resulted in 58.5 Ra, compared to the Series 7 End Mill at 9.7 Ra.
