Step Drill Bits are optimized for speed and durability.

September 26, 2008 - Constructed of hardened steel and protected by titanium nitride coating, IDEAL bits produce exact, repetitive holes through brass, plastic, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and wood. Split Point tip hastens initial penetration, reducing resistance and extending bit life, while double-fluted design yields balanced cutting. Bits are offered with up to 16 multi-diameter steps from 1/8-1 3/8 in. and self-starting point that eliminates starter holes or punches.

Innovative IDEAL Step Drills Twice as Fast as Conventional Bits

IDEAL Step Drill Bits Utilize Split Point Tip for Reduced Resistance, Faster Penetration & Improved Durability

SYCAMORE, IL, September 11, 2008 -- Continuing its lead in the development of professional-grade cutting products, IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. has released a technologically advanced line of step drill bits featuring a patented Split Point tip that has proven to be twice as fast at initial penetration as conventional step drills, resulting in less resistance and extended bit life.

This innovation, combined with a double-fluted design that yields more balanced cutting, makes new IDEAL-brand Step Drill Bits perfect for producing exact, repetitive holes through brass, plastic, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and wood.

In addition, the new bits have a self-starting point that eliminates starter holes or punches, even on curved surfaces. The bits are ruggedly constructed of hardened steel protected by a unique titanium nitride coating.

IDEAL Step Drill Bits are designed to appeal to professional contractors interested in buying and carrying fewer bits. With up to 16 multi-diameter steps from 1/8 inch to 1-3/8 inch, there is less need to invest in several sizes of bits. Each step is gradually blended into the next to ease stepping through hole sizes.
