Prestolite Power Introduces Eclipse Series of Energy-Saving Chargers

Compact, High-Frequency Design Offers Efficiency and Flexibility

TROY, OH, -- AMETEK Prestolite Power, the industry leader in industrial battery charging and fleet management solutions, has added the Prestolite Advanced Charger (PAC) Eclipse Series to its PAC 800 and Equinox(TM) lines of high-frequency battery chargers.

The compact PAC Eclipse Series sets a new industry standard for efficiency, accuracy and flexibility. It uses advanced MOSFET high-frequency power conversion circuitry to provide efficient, dependable battery charging. The Eclipse Series is designed to recharge any 100% discharged lead-acid battery, flooded or sealed, as well as NiCad batteries. The standard model is rated to recharge a 100% discharged battery within 8 hours; 80% rated models also are available.

The Eclipse Series easily adapts to a wide variety of charging requirements, including opportunity charging and multiple battery types with three different equalize options, delayed start, and time of day block-out periods. Its advanced high-frequency design is extremely efficient in converting AC power to usable DC power with minimum impact on the utility grid and in reducing installation and operating costs.

With its advanced microprocessor control, the Eclipse Series allows the battery to determine its own charge cycle rate based on its state of discharge. The Eclipse Series continually monitors the battery's condition to provide optimum charge with minimal temperature rise and completes the charge at the proper current regardless of battery age, battery type or electrolyte temperature.

Prestolite Power offers the industry's broadest range of industrial motive power chargers and is the only industrial battery charger provider able to custom tailor a system that combines the full range of conventional, opportunity and rapid charging solutions.
