VAlign Announces IT Financial Management for VMware
New product designed to align IT and business units
NYACK, N.Y., Sept. 11 /- VAlign today announced the availability of VAlign for VMware for resource usage and cost allocation. This release provides companies with VMware infrastructure for virtualization with the tools required for efficient financial management. VAlign enables a complete virtualization service strategy based on core processes to discover the virtual environment, measure resource usage and align resources based on business needs.
Daniel Beveridge, Director of Virtualization Strategy at CRI Technologies/VIRTERA, said, "Many companies need flexible chargeback tools that mesh with existing allocation-based budgetary processes while providing a detailed audit of resource consumption. VAlign provides a sophisticated chargeback solution that facilitates predictable budget planning and equitable chargeback of resources. VAlign's solution allows easy definition of service levels, associated charges, and granular reporting. Companies benefit from VAlign's tools by aligning service offerings with financial and business goals. VAlign's chargeback framework is key to funding and deploying virtual infrastructure that shares resources among separately funded groups."
VAlign for VMware includes several unique features to facilitate rapid adoption by organizations of any size in any industry. Intuitive wizards and cost pool calculators facilitate fair and accurate charges to business groups for their resource usage through the selection from multiple billing model options such as by resources allocated, usage-based, or a hybrid of both. The solution also allows different rates for various resource types such as tiered billing based on storage tier - Fiber Channel, NAS, SAN, or iSCSI. VAlign collects virtual machine inventory information and usage statistics directly from VMware's VirtualCenter.
Bronagh Sorota, the Founder of VAlign Software, stated, "We started VAlign to deliver management tools to truly unleash the power of virtualization. Our customers told us a crucial missing element was the ability to track and measure the usage and costs of shared virtual infrastructure. With this release, we provide the transparency necessary for IT and the business to truly align requirements and resources."
VAlign plans to focus on broadening the solution for other virtualization technologies and tailoring the product and processes to cloud computing providers including enterprises who are building their own internal cloud computing platforms.
VAlign will be exhibiting at VMworld at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas from September 15th to September 18th at booth #653. VAlign is a privately held company based in Nyack, New York. For more information, visit http://www.valignsoftware.com/ or call (877) 6VALIGN or (877) 682-5446.
