Brushless DC Motor achieves high torque at slow speeds.
September 16, 2008 -
Available in 2 lengths, EC-powermax 22 has operating range of 90-120 W and can be combined with 32 mm planetary gearheads using Maxon's modular system. Rotor is comprised of 2 pole pairs and fitted with magnetic material. For electronic commutation, magnetic field is sensed through Hall sensors, and rotor position detected. Product has no detent because of grooveless stator, optimizing control characteristics, making it suitable for positioning applications.
Fall River, MA - Maxon's EC-powermax 22 achieves extremely high torque at slow speeds compared to other similar-sized brushless DC motors. As part of our standard program, it is available in two lengths and has an operating range between 90 to 120 watts depending on the version. Easily combined with 32 mm planetary gearheads using maxon's modular system.
The existing rotor comprising 2 pole pairs is fitted with the best magnetic material currently available on the market. For electronic commutation, the magnetic field is sensed through Hall sensors and the rotor position detected. maxon's winding technology, optimized for powermax motors, also delivers impressive performance benefits. The EC powermax 22 has no detent because of the grooveless stator, resulting in excellent control characteristics which are particularly beneficial for positioning operations.
The new EC motor is particularly suitable for applications where top performance is required per volume and weight unit, such as medical applications requiring handheld tools.
