Full IP Routers deliver dual LAN/modem connectivity.
September 19, 2008 -
Modules eWON 2005CD and eWON 4005CD provide transparent Siemens communication between SIMATIC Step 7® on PC and network of S7-300 or S7-400 PLCs, either in MPI or Profibus. With Factory LAN to Machine LAN routing, modules offer WAN Ethernet port for connecting to Internet passing outward through local IT network and firewall. Use of Talk2M grants remote authenticated users access in fully bi-directional VPN link from their PC to any eWON device connected to Internet.
eWON Unveils Two New Industrial Routers with Dual LAN/Modem Connectivity, the eWON 2005CD and eWON 4005CD
New eWON 2005CD and 4005CD devices expand the possibilities of previous 2005 and 4005 modules with MPI and PROFIBUS connectivity for Siemens S7 PLCs.
June 2008, Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium.
eWON announces two new eWON modules, the eWON 2005CD and eWON 4005CD (CD stands for Compact Design). These two latest additions to the eWON family expand the possibility of previous 2005 and 4005 modules with MPI and PROFIBUS connectivity for Siemens S7 PLCs.
The eWON 2005CD and 4005CD modules give a truly transparent Siemens communication between SIMATIC Step 7® on a PC and a network of S7-300 or S7-400 PLCs, either in MPI or Profibus.
The eWON 2005CD and eWON 4005 CD are full IP router featuring "Factory" LAN to "Machine" LAN routing functionalities. The modules offer a WAN Ethernet port for connecting to the Internet passing outward through the local IT network (factory or office LAN) and firewall. By using Talk2M, remote authenticated users can then access in a fully bi-directional VPN link from their PC any eWON device connected to the Internet, whilst circumventing complexities that may exist within site IT network infrastructures. An optional built-in modem can be provided as a back-up access making eWON 2005CD/4005CD a powerful dual LAN/Modem connectivity device.
Seamlessly integrated with the PLC programming environment, eWON 2005 CD monitors and collects data into internal tags while PLC maintenance is performed.
eWON 2005 CD has both Web and FTP server embedded as well as an independent alarm management system.
New features highlights: 32 MB of Flash memory (instead of 16), the support of DHCP client protocol and a Wizard to configure the Internet Connection.
