New ALEOS(TM) Events Reporting Engine for PinPoint X and PinPoint XT devices offers comprehensive vehicle sensor monitoring and exception reporting
VANCOUVER, Sept. 10 -- Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ:SWIR -)(NASDAQ:TSX:)(NASDAQ:SW) today announced that ALEOS(TM) embedded intelligence now includes events reporting capabilities available with the AirLink(TM) PinPoint X and PinPoint XT mobile gateways. The ALEOS Events Reporting Engine provides PinPoint customers with real-time event status in the host vehicle, such as "speed limit threshold crossed," "door ajar," or "siren engaged." It is highly customizable and can be remotely managed, controlled, and configured through AceWare(TM) remote management software, giving users the flexibility to tailor the type and number of data messages sent, when they are sent, and who receives them, through the use of programmed triggers that allow customers to set specific information requirements for their PinPoint X and PinPoint XT mobile gateways.
The ALEOS Events Reporting Engine improves the responsiveness and efficiency of PinPoint X and PinPoint XT mobile gateways, by providing time sensitive information instead of raw data for central processing. Clear, actionable information is provided as soon as it is available, to facilitate timely and accurate decision-making by end users or customer applications. In addition, the Events Reporting Engine allows customers to manage their data usage better by selecting precisely what data they want delivered, improving cost and processing efficiency. Critical event and status notifications can be delivered to multiple destinations using email, SMS and reporting servers.
