World's Largest Agile Training Program, To Be Held at 2008 Serena TAG Conference, Will Push Agile Further Into the Enterprise
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept. 10 -- To meet the increasing demand for Agile adoption in the enterprise, Serena Software today announced it will deliver a pure Agile solution based on best practices via Software as a Service (SaaS) later this year. Serena(R) Agile On Demand will enable software development groups to add Agile to their development portfolio and support global teams working on multiple projects.
Serena Agile On Demand offers a new approach to adopting Agile practices by coupling the developer tool with Agile adoption and training services from Valtech, an industry-leading Agile services provider and Serena partner. The combined tool and services offering is designed to meet the needs of the 21st century development environment, which includes multiple projects running in multiple languages across multiple continents.

Serena's new Agile On Demand solution will make it simpler and faster to manage concurrent Agile projects with innovative capabilities and virtual training that foster team collaboration whether a team is in the same room or spread across continents and time zones.
More than just software, Agile On Demand combines tooling with Agile transformation services, such as:

In fact, the "Coach Live" service is an exclusive offering from Valtech available only in Agile On Demand. Other Agile On Demand capabilities include:

Agile On Demand completes Serena's "hat trick" of bringing to market this year three offerings via SaaS. Its first two solutions -- Serena(R) Mariner(R) (Project and Portfolio Management) and Serena Business Mashups -- can be delivered either on premise or via SaaS. Serena Agile On Demand will be available only via SaaS.
Availability and Pricing
Serena Agile On Demand will be available by the end of 2008. Pricing will be based on Serena's unique "try, succeed then buy" model, in which customers are encouraged to download a Serena product for free, use it for a specified period of time free of charge, and once the customer sees value in the product, then Serena will charge a low, per seat subscription fee. In this way, Agile On Demand virtually guarantees that users will be successful adopting Agile practices before needing to pay. Valtech's training and coaching services will be included in the Agile On Demand fee.

More than 500 people will be taking the first step in becoming a true Agile practitioner by joining the free Agile Mastery training session, Valtech's core Agile course training, held at Serena's 2008 Tag Conference in Santa Clara, Sept. 7-11. Anyone can get Agile certified in two days for free (a $1,400 value) in this hands-on, immersive course.
With approximately 4400 Agile Alliance members to date, this training course promises to increase the number of certified Agile practitioners worldwide by more than ten percent. Interestingly, participants were invited to the session via Facebook and social networking; Serena did not buy any email lists or traditional advertising yet doubled its registration rates for the event.
